Welcome to the fourth edition of the Geneva Health Forum (GHF), a key event for those wishing to hear the voice and insights of the global health frontlines.
We are introducing many new features to ensure that views from the frontlines are well represented at the Geneva Health Forum. It is with great pleasure that we offer you the new submission format, suited to submit project implementation experiences as well as scientific abstracts. You can generate more interest in your submission by also submitting photos and audio-visuals.
The GHF community can view your submission on-line, encouraging its members to share their experiences, while our Program Committee is reviewing your submission.
We are developing the format of the GHF in ways that encourage lively and productive discussions during the forum. Towards a more multi-sectorial approach, illustrated or introduced by short videos from the frontlines. You will hear more on this, once the submissions have been reviewed and participations confirmed. We are also expanding the network of hubs that were created for the 2010 edition and multiplied our reach to colleagues in far out places. The new web site reflects our efforts to make all our processes as user-friendly as possible.
The fourth edition of the Geneva Health Forum will focus on chronic conditions which pose major challenges to health systems in high and low-income countries, in stable and emergency situations. To address this challenge the GHF solicits accounts from those on the frontlines, whether they are working at the local level in a rural clinic, at the national level in a ministry or developing policy at the international level.
Building on networks and partners, the GHF is becoming a permanent forum through the globalaccesstohealth.net platform, a collaborative space that allows year round interactions, prior and after the meeting in Geneva. This platform encourages exchange of knowledge and practical experiences and facilitates access to debates thus widening the participation of those isolated in the field. Putting in touch people with various resources and skills, it helps in generating new initiatives and actions, which can be monitored in real time.
We have reinforced our team at the GHF and are looking forward to hosting with you a meaningful and solution oriented fourth edition. Our journey towards global access to health continues…..
